Newel: Commonly called a “post”. The Newel is a strong vertical post used at the start of a railing. They are also used to strengthen the rail system on balconies and landings.
Baluster: Commonly called a “spindle”; these help support the railing and add a decorative element to fill the area between the rail and floor.
Fitting: Used to change rail direction; fittings are an exact match to the pattern and species of the rail. A fitting can be used to change direction either vertically or horizontally.
